Ducks..

Yesterday I popped into the museum to see Richard Lewer's exhibition
I MUST LEARN TO LIKE MYSELF.
These ducks were sitting happily by the water outside.
I wondered..

Does a duck ever worry?

Does a duck tell himself
"I must learn to like myself."

Remember Eckhart Tolle's description of how ducks handle squabbles.
Down at the lake I've seen the ducks fight and squabble and when they have finished..
they go off in different directions..
stop..flap their wings furiously.. shake their tails..
and get on with life.
Is this more a male way of thinking. I wonder.
I wonder what is it the female duck would be thinking.
If ducks thought.

  1. I love your photo. Do we need to like ourselves? A very good question; your words make me think of Tolle.

  2. Was it Tolle that said that about ducks? Someone did but I couldn't remember who. I've seen it happen many times down at the lake.

  3. Joan, this is just too precious a photo. It is night here. Bedtime, actually, and I shall drift off to sleep thinking of your ducks getting on with life.
