Oh what a wonderful world..

How is it that the small roots from the tree

can keep pushing, pushing until the
footpath is wrecked.

How come, after a little spell of cooler weather
followed by some warm sunny days

the spring flowers begin to bloom
in autumn.

Why does green algae suddenly grow
in the lake waters,

turning the lake surface into fake Italian marble.

Who designed the shape of leaves...

  1. I personally think global warming is a hot topic that too many (especially in the U.S.) give the cool treatment. Mother Nature still loves us - but, as in any abusive relationship, how long can this love last?

    Great post, Joan!!!

  2. Well said, Kittie Howard. We have had the most unusual of springs here in the midwest US, and the southern states have suffered so with the worst tornado history on record.

Having said all that, what wonderful pictures and thoughts, Joan. Your writing style is so often poetic and is so much so now. Thank you.

  3. It is strange to see spring blooms in the autumn. I love your shots and your thoughts, Joan. I do love heart-shaped leaves. They always make me smile :)

  4. I think that we think alike, Joan -- so much to see and marvel at!

  5. Yes, there are certainly some odd things happening, as if the seasons are becoming confused. What a lovely post.
