French Women Don't Get Fat. Mireille Guiliano.

This book reminds me of Peta - my Foodie Queen. Peta is passionate about food - the planning, buying, preparing and eating. Like the French women in the book, the eating is savouring slowly and mindfully. Not huge portions eaten without attention.

I will make this MY NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTION : To be mindful when it comes to food.. I do want to lose some weight and to feel comfortable in my skin. This will be a year long journey. I will record what I do in this blog. I will follow through Mireille's book.
" everything is a matter of balance... achieving a balance has more to do with the mind than the stomach" Guiliano
So - I have made the soup (Page 29)

1 kilo leeks
Water to cover in a large pot

Cut leeks into 2cm slices, put into pot and bring to the boil. Simmer with no lid for 20 to 30 minutes. Pour off liquid and reserve. Place the leeks in a bowl.
I now will drink the juice, cup at a time every 2 to 3 hours. My meals will be the leeks. I can add a drizzle of extra-virgin olive oil and lemon juice. A little salt and pepper. That me for Saturday and Sunday. Sunday evening I will have a little fish. Wish me luck!
